Chili's, owned by Brinker International, reported strong earnings and record sales, rewarding its corporate employees with large bonuses.

The parent company, Brinker International, will pay bonuses at 200% of the target to corporate employees, following the highest profits since 1984. The company's net profits more than doubled and sales increased by 22% for the fiscal year ending June 25.

Chili's has become a model of success in the restaurant industry, attracting customers with special offers and cultivating a lighthearted atmosphere on social media. The restructuring under CEO Kevin Hochman has led to a doubling of the share price.

While Chili's is granting raises, other chains like Starbucks are limiting increases. Some investors are wondering about the sustainability of Chili's momentum.
