Chevron in Athens Next Week for Drilling Agreements

The four agreements with Chevron are expected to be signed next week in Athens, as announced by the Minister of Environment and Energy, Stavros Papastavrou, speaking on Action 24.

Mr. Papastavrou emphasized that the signing of the agreements will seal a significant prospect for the development of the hydrocarbon sector in Greece.

Referring to the Vertical Corridor, Mr. Papastavrou pointed out that it is a project with multiple benefits, as it constitutes a diversified energy corridor for Europe, highlighting Greece's upgraded energy position, creating investments, jobs, and more revenue.

Additionally, Mr. Papastavrou will be in Washington on February 24, at the invitation of Chris Wright, to discuss regulatory issues related to the Vertical Corridor.

Regarding electricity bills, Mr. Papastavrou stated that despite the large increase in the wholesale price in January in Europe, this was not observed in Greece, due to the increase in renewable energy sources.
