Bitcoin Plunges Below $80,000 Amid Sell-Off

Bitcoin has fallen below the $80,000 level, reaching its lowest point since April 2025. The drop dragged down the cryptocurrency market, triggering liquidations of billions of dollars.
Bitcoin's decline reached 10%, with the price settling at $75,709.88 during afternoon trading in New York. Alternative cryptocurrencies, such as Ether and Solana, recorded even greater losses.
According to CoinGecko, the total capitalization of the cryptocurrency market decreased by $111 billion in 24 hours. Approximately $1.6 billion in short and long positions were liquidated, mainly in Bitcoin and Ethereum, according to Coinglass.
