Fraud Attempt in "Renovate-Rent" Program: House Declared 20 Times

Checks on the "Renovate-Rent" program revealed fraud attempts, with one house being declared 20 times by different applicants, according to a report in Kathimerini.
Nearly 70% of applications in Western Greece were revoked, while a total of over 2,900 applications were rejected throughout Greece due to false or incomplete information.
In addition to multiple applications for the same property, repeated e-mails and telephone numbers, errors in property details, and attempts to include properties that do not meet the specifications were identified.
The Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family and IDIKA are attempting real-time cross-checks to filter applications. The government warns that E9 cross-checks will be intensified and applications with inaccurate data will be automatically rejected.
As of October 24, 3,794 applications had been approved, while 2,978 were rejected mainly due to false E9 declarations.
