EAC Intensifies Efforts for Generators in Dekeleia

The EAC is intensifying efforts to install generators in Dekeleia, aiming to increase the Authority's production capacity. The chairman of the EAC's board, Georgios Petrou, hinted at a possible award of a tender soon.

The EAC, in cooperation with the bidders TERNA and AVAX, is considering the purchase of small generators with delivery by 2027. The purchase of older technology gas turbines, cheaper but with a slightly longer activation time, is being discussed.

For 2026, the EAC is placing its hopes on energy storage systems (batteries) in three substations, managed by the DSMK, with the aim of being available in the summer of 2026.

Energy storage systems for the stations in Dekeleia and Moni are less likely to be ready for the summer of 2026.
