Farmers postpone protests after meeting with Panagiotou

Farmers' organizations have announced the temporary postponement of their planned protests following an emergency meeting with the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Maria Panagiotou. In a joint statement signed by the organizations PEK, EKA, Panagrotikos, Nea Agrotiki Kinisi, Evroagrotikos, and the Pancyprian Organization of Cereal Producers (POS), it is stated that all the problems for which the protests were announced were discussed.

The farmers' organizations decided to give the competent state services additional time to resolve the issues and to temporarily postpone the protests. They also thanked the Minister of Agriculture for her initiative.

In addition to the Minister, officials from KOAP, the Director of the Department of Agriculture, as well as senior officials from the Ministry of Interior, the Land Registry, and the Turkish Cypriot Property Management Service attended the meeting.
