Historian, Writer, and Director Andros Pavlides Passes Away

Andros Pavlides, a historian, writer, painter, and director, has passed away at the age of 79. He was also the creator of the "Great Cypriot Encyclopedia."

Born in 1946 in the village of Koilani in the Limassol district, he worked at the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (RIK) from 1968 to 2006, as a director, producer, and television program director.

Andros Pavlides was distinguished for his documentaries, directing over 150, including the four cycles on the History of Cyprus. Also significant was the production and direction of the series "Testimonies" for the file of the Cypriot Tragedy.

In addition to his work in television, he wrote plays and worked as a journalist, columnist, and cartoonist in Cypriot and other publications.
