Italian Brainrots: From Memes to Brand

Italian Brainrots, which started as a series of eccentric sketches circulating online, have now become a recognizable brand with increasing online sales.
The figures, created by a group of designers who shared their love for memes, were not originally intended for anything more than simple fun. Strange names with Italian endings and surreal images were more reminiscent of graffiti in school notebooks.
The appeal of Brainrots was unexpected, as they resonated with children and adults alike. Characteristic examples are Bombardino Crocodillo, a bomber plane with the face of a crocodile, and Tralalero Tralala, a shark with sneakers.
Social media users began sharing the designs, using them as stickers and images in comments, resulting in a random viral spread.
