«Green Shield» Environmental Festival for the 9th Year

The independent environmental organization Green Shield, in collaboration with You Reforest Cyprus, is organizing the pan-Cypriot environmental festival for the 9th consecutive year, themed «Environment Sorry». The festival will take place on August 3, 2025, at the picnic site at the Xyliatou dam.

The festival includes sports activities, information sessions, a music and dance program, educational games for children, and activities for all ages. Four schools will be awarded for their environmental actions. Local businesses and organizations such as the Youth Board of Cyprus, the Cyprus Youth Council, and the Environment Department are participating.

Sports activities begin at 10:30 a.m., while from 12:00 onwards there will be an artistic program with Angelos Augusti, Evdokia Kadi, Stella Stylianou, and Michalis Leventis, as well as traditional dances from the dance group of the University of Cyprus.

A buffet is offered with a symbolic contribution of 10 euros, which includes the adoption of a seedling from the «You Reforest Cyprus» program, which will be planted in the burned areas. A minute's silence will be observed in memory of the victims of the recent fire.
