Dionysis Savvopoulos: His Last Public Appearance and Relationship with His Wife

The renowned songwriter Dionysis Savvopoulos passed away at the age of 81 after being hospitalized. Five months before his death, he attended the screening of Lakis Papastathis' documentary "Chairo Poly, Savvopoulos" at the Benaki Museum, accompanied by his wife, Aspa Savvopoulou.

In a video from the event, Savvopoulos spoke about Lakis Papastathis, describing his character as soft-spoken, discreet, and kind.

In his autobiography, Savvopoulos referred to his meeting and relationship with his wife, whom he married on October 18, 1967, and with whom he had two sons, Romanos and Kornilios. He had revealed that Aspa was a student when they met and they stayed together for 57 years.
