Limassol Mayor to Lecture on Modernism as New Heritage

The Municipality of Limassol, the PSI Foundation, and the Cathrine Art Organization invite you to the closing ceremony of the exhibition FROM NATURE TO STRUCTURE: THREADS OF DIALOGUE, which will feature a lecture by the Mayor of Limassol, Mr. Yiannis Armeftis.

The lecture, titled "Modernism as the New Heritage," will take place on January 31st at 18:00 at the PSI Foundation. Mr. Armeftis will examine modernism and its significance for Limassol, as well as how 20th-century architecture is transforming into a cultural identity.

The Mayor, in his capacity as an architect, will present Limassol as an example of the application of modernism. Three strategic interventions to highlight modern heritage will be analyzed.

The exhibition is under the auspices of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2026, with the support of the Deputy Ministry of Culture, the French Embassy, the French Institute of Cyprus, the Municipality of Limassol, the Municipality of Marseille, and the Alliance Française Limassol.
