Increased Book Demand in Cyprus During Summer

Cypriot bookstores are experiencing increased demand for books during the summer months, according to statements made to ΚΥΠΕ by the President of the Cyprus Booksellers Association, Akis Christou, and the Director of Parga Bookstore, Kostas Balaouras.
Adult readers mainly prefer novels and self-improvement books. Mr. Christou mentioned that readers choose Cypriot, Greek, and foreign authors, with an emphasis on literature and children's books.
Mr. Balaouras noted that there is a growing interest in foreign authors, while popular Cypriot authors such as Stavros Christodoulou, Nasia Dionysiou, Konstantia Sotiriou, Antonis Georgiou, and Nikos Nikolaou remain popular throughout the year.
The highest book sales are observed during Christmas, as books are considered a popular gift. Mothers aged 25-40 are a significant part of the purchasing public, choosing children's and literary books.
Popular titles during this period include "Panther" by Ofelia, "The 'Let Them' Method" by Mel Robbins, "Dive into Love" by Rena Rossi-Zairi, "Transparent Waters" by Evangelia Efstathiou, "Red Line" by Lena Manta, and "Don't Fear the Wind" by Katerina Ligounaki.
