Vorizia: Allegations of police inaction before the deadly incident

The brother of the 56-year-old woman killed in Vorizia, Heraklion, Kostas Fragiadakis, has alleged that he tried to contact the police before the deadly incident but received no response.
As he stated on MEGA television, after an explosive device detonated at the house bought by the Fragiadakis family from the Kargakis family, there was tension in the village.
K. Fragiadakis claims he tried to notify the police, but could not find any police officer.
"The police should not have let this happen," commented Kostas Fragiadakis.
His other sister and nephew remain in the hospital. His sister had come to the village for their father's memorial service.
"On Saturday morning, I was calling the police and no one was answering. I couldn't talk to anyone," he repeated.
He explained that the bomb had been placed in his nephew's house and stressed that if the police wanted to do their job, "the village should have been surrounded by the police" early on Saturday morning.
"The damage is done, the dead cannot come back… It must stop here," he concluded.
