Accident Involving School Bus: Ambulance Service Responds to Delay Claims

A serious accident involving a school bus occurred midday on the Agiou Epifaniou to Palechori road. Authorities are investigating the circumstances under which a private vehicle collided head-on with the bus, which was transporting students from Malountas Gymnasium.

The head of the Ambulance Service, Riana Constantinou, responded to claims of delays, stating that the first ambulance arrived at the scene 26 minutes after the call. A total of five ambulances were dispatched.

The possibility that the driver of the private vehicle lost consciousness or fell asleep due to a chronic illness is being investigated. The exact circumstances will be clarified after the testimonies of those involved are taken.
