School Bus Accident in Cyprus: 13 Injured, Investigation Underway

A traffic accident occurred on Tuesday (10/3) on the Agiou Epifaniou to Palaichori road, when a school bus collided with a private vehicle. Thirteen people were injured and transported to Nicosia General Hospital.

According to the Police, the accident happened at 13:55. The school bus was carrying students from the 2nd Regional Gymnasium of Nicosia. Witnesses report that the driver of the private vehicle lost consciousness.

Ambulances and police officers rushed to the scene. The spokesperson for OKYPY, Charalambos Charilaou, as well as the Ministers of Health and Education visited the hospital. The health condition of the injured does not appear to be serious, according to the Police.

The images show a violent collision, with extensive damage to the school bus and the private vehicle. The police are investigating the circumstances of the accident.

Charalambos Charilaou stated that all the injured are receiving the necessary medical care.
