Fatal accident in Limassol: Villagers collide on Avdimou-Anogyra road

A tragic traffic accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in the Limassol district, on the Avdimou - Anogyra road. A 68-year-old man lost his life, while a 57-year-old man was injured.

According to the Limassol Traffic Police, the accident happened when the small van driven by Nikos Paris, 68 years old, collided head-on with a car driven by a 57-year-old resident of Anogyra. The collision occurred before the village of Anogyra.

The 68-year-old died instantly, and the Fire Service had to intervene to free him. The 57-year-old was taken to the hospital. The two drivers were villagers. According to initial indications, the 68-year-old was not wearing a seat belt.

The Traffic Police are investigating the causes of the accident. The Avdimou - Anogyra road remains closed to traffic.
