Fatal Accident in Limassol: Victim Was Not Wearing a Seatbelt

A tragic traffic accident occurred on Wednesday in the Limassol district, on the Avdimou – Anogyra road, resulting in the fatal injury of a 68-year-old man.

The 68-year-old Nikos Paris was driving his van when it collided head-on with a car driven by a 57-year-old resident of Anogyra. The collision occurred around 18:30.

According to the Police, the 57-year-old was taken to Limassol General Hospital with severe internal injuries and an injury to his right hip.

Initial investigations suggest that the 68-year-old was not wearing a seatbelt. According to the state radio correspondent, the seatbelt was buckled in the holder, and the victim was sitting on top of it.

The Avdimou – Anogyra road remains closed for police investigations. Traffic Police are investigating the circumstances under which the accident occurred.
