19-Year-Old Driver Arrested for Hitting Pedestrian in Larnaca

Police have arrested the 19-year-old driver involved in a traffic accident in Larnaca, which resulted in the critical injury of a peer.

According to reports, the Larnaca CID has taken over the investigation, based on the testimonies and examinations conducted so far. The 19-year-old faces charges of causing grievous bodily harm and negligent and reckless acts.

According to the police, the accident occurred around 11:30 p.m. in an open parking area in Larnaca. The 19-year-old was driving his car, with a peer as a passenger, when, under investigation circumstances, he hit and seriously injured a 19-year-old pedestrian from the Larnaca province.

The injured man was initially taken to Larnaca General Hospital and subsequently, due to the severity of his condition, intubated and transferred to Nicosia General Hospital, where he is being treated in the Intensive Care Unit. His condition is considered extremely critical by the attending physicians.
