Larnaca Clash: Gang Warfare and Arrests

Shocking scenes from a bloody clash in Larnaca, with police making arrests. The incident, which unfolded near the police headquarters, was recorded by a mobile phone.

Authorities have issued arrest warrants for four Syrians identified in the video. In addition, three people were arrested in a house search, without their involvement in the clash being established.

Reportedly, the group of a 48-year-old injured man allegedly asked a businessman on Grigoriou Afxentiou Avenue for protection money, initially €7,000 and then €1,000 per month. After the businessman's refusal, threats followed.

The 48-year-old protagonist of the video was arrested while being treated at Larnaca hospital. The police secured his detention for 8 days. He is expected to be re-arrested for the beating of a young man in Pyla.
