Authorities have arrested a person in connection with the vandalism of public toilets in the tourist resort of Ayia Napa. The case is under investigation by the Ayia Napa police station and is expected to be heard in court on Monday.

The Mayor of Ayia Napa, Christos Zannettos, condemned the recurring incidents of antisocial behavior and emphasized the need to protect public property. He also announced that he will request a revision of the legislation regarding the installation of surveillance systems (CCTV) in public spaces.

Mr. Zannettos stressed that the issue concerns all municipalities and that respect for public space is an obligation.
