55-Year-Old Arrested for Poaching Case Involving Mouflon Skulls and 1,008 Dead Birds

Police have arrested a 55-year-old man to facilitate investigations into a poaching case. The arrest was made during a joint operation by the Police and the Game and Fauna Service.

The 55-year-old is expected to appear before the Nicosia District Court. During the operations, the following items were found and confiscated:

• 2 mouflon skulls
• 3 killed hares
• 7 killed partridges
• 5 killed francolins
• 1,008 killed wild birds
• 4 hunting rifles (one altered)
• 47 iron traps
• 2 live hares
• 3 live wild birds
• 1 trapping net
• Prohibited cartridges
• 3 bird sound emitting devices

Investigations are ongoing to identify other individuals involved.
