Five Greek Cypriots Arrested in Occupied Territories for Illegal Entry

According to Turkish Cypriot press, five Greek Cypriots were arrested in the Gastria area of Famagusta and are accused of illegal entry into a military zone of the self-proclaimed state. The detainees are being held for three days following a decision by the area's 'district court'.
According to the newspaper “Dialogue”, the suspects were allegedly conducting topographical surveys and identifications, entering the 'TRNC' by violating a militarily prohibited zone without completing the necessary procedures at the Strovilia checkpoint. They are two couples aged 68 and 63/66 years old, and a 68-year-old man.
During the search of the detainees' vehicle, maps, title deeds with markings, and documents with lists of construction companies operating in the self-proclaimed state and the names of their directors were confiscated. One of the detainees allegedly received property survey results in Kyrenia from a company called Royal Estate.
According to the report, the detainees were allegedly trying to collect documents and conduct investigations regarding the arrests and prosecutions of property buyers in the occupied territories. The 'police investigator' stated that the arrest occurred when the suspects entered the 'Bogazi' summer residence complex by trespassing on private property.
Mobile phones and folders in their possession were confiscated as evidence.
