40-Year-Old Arrested for Drugs at Cyprus Central Prison

A 40-year-old was arrested at Cyprus Central Prison for attempting to smuggle drug-soaked paper to a female inmate convicted of manslaughter.

The suspect was searched by prison officials, who discovered paper sheets soaked in a prohibited substance. A search of his vehicle revealed 14 grams of cannabis and 2 grams of cocaine. Nothing incriminating was found at his residence.

The arrest was made as part of heightened security measures at the prison, following instructions from the Minister of Justice.
