Fugitive 'Andros' Handed Over to Cyprus Authorities

Daniel Yehonatan Zarug, 36, also known as 'Andros,' has been handed over to the authorities of the Republic of Cyprus through the UN Peacekeeping Force (UNFICYP). Zarug is wanted by Israeli authorities for a deadly ambush in Ashdod in March.
According to a report in 'Phileleftheros,' the handover took place via a checkpoint, and extradition procedures to Israel have begun. Zarug was arrested in the occupied territories on July 30.
The fugitive is wanted in connection with the murder of Almog Peretz and the injury of two others in an ambush outside a courthouse in Ashdod on March 24, 2024. He allegedly fled Israel using a fake Spanish passport under the name 'Andros Garcia.'
The United States reportedly played an active role in his arrest, while Israel closely monitored the case.
