Stelios Papatheodorou: My Instructions for the Louiza Zannetou Case

Former Chief of Police, Stelios Papatheodorou, commented on the testimony related to him in the acquittal decision for the Commissioner of Legislation, Louiza Zannetou.

According to Mr. Papatheodorou, his instructions were "to follow the procedure as it is done for every citizen", as soon as he became aware of the case.

Mr. Papatheodorou did not further comment on the statements made by the Assistant Chief of Police, Yiannakis Georgiou, who testified as a defense witness.

Judge Georgia Karamalli stated in her decision that Yiannakis Georgiou testified that he received instructions from the former Chief of Police to send the case directly to the Court, due to the publicity it had received.

The Court noted that the medical certificate of the defendant was not sent to the Legal Service, due to the instructions of the former Chief of Police.

Furthermore, the Court concluded that Louiza Zannetou suffers from chronic bronchial asthma, which affected her exhalation.
