Greek Cypriot Arrested in Occupied Territories for Cattle Smuggling

Alert in the occupied territories due to suspected cases of foot-and-mouth disease in animals, causing concern in the free areas as well. The "Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources" announced that during inspections in Famagusta, attempts to smuggle animals from the free areas were detected.

An EU citizen was arrested in the act by the "security forces" while attempting the illegal crossing. Nine male dairy calves were confiscated, which had been smuggled into the occupied territories. The animals underwent clinical examinations and were handed over to the "State Breeding Farm."

In total, three people were arrested, one Greek Cypriot and one Turkish Cypriot. The "police" confiscated money from the suspects. In the "court," it was reported that the suspects were found loading the animals from one car to another.
