Platres Fire: 29-Year-Old Arrested Following Testimony

Police arrested a 29-year-old yesterday in connection with the fire that broke out on September 26, 2025, in the Platres area.

Shortly after 8 p.m. on September 26, two fire outbreaks were located on the roadside in Pano Platres, approximately 200 meters apart. Members of the Police, the Fire Service, the Department of Forests, and citizens participated in the extinguishing operation.

The first outbreak burned approximately 200 square meters of wild vegetation, while the second burned approximately 20 square meters.

The 29-year-old was arrested under a court warrant and is expected to be brought before the Limassol District Court for the issuance of a detention order. The Limassol TAE and the Platres Police Station are continuing the investigations.
