Protaras: 31-Year-Old Assaulted at Hotel – Two Arrests

Police arrested two individuals on Sunday in connection with a case involving grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon. The arrested are a 19-year-old and a 17-year-old, both brothers of foreign origin.

According to the Police, the 19-year-old and the 31-year-old who was attacked are colleagues at a hotel in Protaras. The incident occurred around 5:30 PM last Thursday, August 21, on hotel grounds.

The victim claims he had a verbal altercation with the 19-year-old colleague before being punched in the face, possibly with brass knuckles. The two brothers were arrested and detained. On Monday, they were brought before the Famagusta District Court, where a 7-day detention order was issued.

The 31-year-old was injured in the face and suffered an orbital fracture. He received treatment at Famagusta General Hospital.
