Police Officer Fined for Red Light Violation

An incident captured in an OMEGAlive video showing a police car running a red light occurred on Wednesday, July 30, near Police Headquarters, between the 'Kalimera' and RIK traffic lights.

According to reports, the police car driver was issued an out-of-court fine of 300 euros for the violation. The Police emphasize that their members are instructed to obey the laws.

The fine has not yet been served, as the police officer is on leave. The Police Leadership has ordered an investigation into the incident, and disciplinary proceedings are possible.
