These messages are a scam attempt, aimed at misleading citizens into opening suspicious files or malicious links.

The Tax Department emphasizes that tax refunds are made only via bank transfer to the taxpayer's declared IBAN account.

Official communication is only through emails ending in @tax.mof.gov.cy. Other email addresses are suspicious.
