Patras: Two Arrested for Arson – Motives Unknown

Two individuals, aged 27 and 19, have been arrested in Patras for arson in the Sychaina area. Patras Security Police are investigating the case, while the motives of the perpetrators remain unknown.

The arrest followed the use of visual material showing the young men moving suspiciously near a forest area. A backpack containing matches, lighters, and flammable liquid was found in their possession.

One of the arrested, the 19-year-old, confessed to the act, indicating the location of the fire and their movements with the 27-year-old. However, no explanation has been given for the motives.

According to the announcement of the Hellenic Police (EL.AS.), the investigation began after the fire broke out on August 12, 2025. Patras Security released a photo of the backpack with the confiscated items.
