Football Official Faces Court over Child Sex Abuse Allegations

A football team official was referred to the Permanent Criminal Court of Limassol on June 25 in connection with a case of sexual harassment of underage football players. The case involves allegations of soliciting nude photos from minors in exchange for money and sexual aids.

The case is being investigated by the Police Headquarters. The court scheduled the case for early August. The Prosecution Authority requested the defendant's detention until the trial, with defense attorneys' arguments expected tomorrow.

The indictment includes charges of acquiring child sexual abuse material, soliciting minors, and conspiracy to obstruct justice. The offenses allegedly occurred from June 2023 to the present.

The defendant allegedly solicited nude photos via an application, offering money and sexual aids. In one instance, he allegedly proposed a meeting to a 16-year-old for a sexual act in exchange for payment.
