Paphos: Poachers Threaten Game Wardens with Gun – One Arrested

A 66-year-old man was arrested in the Paphos district after he and an accomplice threatened game wardens with a gun. His accomplice is on the run.
According to the Game and Fauna Service, at approximately 8:20 PM last night, during a patrol in the Acheleia area, they spotted two individuals shooting. One possessed a flobert-type firearm and the other a lit flashlight.
When the game wardens approached, one of the suspects pointed the gun at them and threatened them. The two then fled, but the game wardens apprehended the 66-year-old. His accomplice managed to escape.
18 freshly killed wood pigeons were found in the 66-year-old's possession. At the scene of the arrest, another wood pigeon, two full flobert cartridges, and four empty cartridges were found.
The 66-year-old was arrested for immediate offenses. The case is being investigated by the Paphos CID.
