Ormideia: Shots Fired During Arrest of Attempted Murder Suspects

A dramatic arrest took place involving two wanted brothers in connection with an attempted murder case in Limassol. They were located on a boat off the coast of Ormideia, allegedly trying to flee the country.

According to Lefteris Kyriakou, Spokesperson for the Limassol Police Directorate, the Port and Maritime Police received information from the British Bases Police about a pursuit of a suspicious speedboat. The two individuals on board refused to stop for inspection.

During the chase, the operator of the boat attempted to injure a crew member with a knife, while the second person attacked with a piece of wood. Warning shots were fired by the Port Police, after which the boat stopped.

The two individuals, wanted in connection with a case on 20/12/2025 in Limassol (conspiracy to commit murder, assault, possession of weapons), were arrested and transferred to the British Bases Police station in Dhekelia.

It is recalled that on December 20, a 36-year-old was attacked outside a cafe on Anexartisias Street in Limassol. He was attacked with electric shock devices and a knife.
