Police Night Operation: 9 Arrests and Over 400 Vehicles Checked

In a coordinated night operation, the Police proceeded to arrest nine people for various offenses. The operations aimed to prevent criminal activities and ensure public order.

In the Larnaca district, four people were arrested in connection with a shooting case, and one person for illegal entry and attempted theft. In Nicosia, two people were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and one for illegal stay in Cyprus. Another person was arrested on the highway for an outstanding arrest warrant related to a traffic collision.

During the operation, over 430 vehicles and 510 people were checked. 49 premises were inspected, resulting in nine complaints for violations of operating licenses. Traffic controls led to 204 complaints, including 14 for driving under the influence of alcohol and one driver testing positive for drug use. Over 240 alcohol tests were conducted, and 16 vehicles were seized.

These operations are part of a broader Police plan to prevent crime and enhance the safety of citizens.
