New Reports of Phone Scams in Cyprus

The Police have received new reports of phone scams in Cyprus, where perpetrators pretend to call on behalf of a financial transaction platform.
The scammers aim to steal personal data and extract money from bank accounts.
According to the reports, the perpetrators call from foreign numbers and, through an automated telephone system, ask citizens to select numbers from the keypad to confirm alleged transactions.
The Police advise special caution and urge citizens to check and verify calls through the official communication channels of the organizations involved before any transaction.
