Measures continue in the occupied territories regarding foot-and-mouth disease, with emphasis on vaccinations. According to the press, the 'ministry of agriculture' and 'municipalities' have started disinfection and preventive measures in livestock units. Restrictions on animal movement are being implemented, allowing transport only to slaughterhouses.

Experts emphasize the difficulties faced by livestock farmers and butchers, highlighting the need for veterinary inspection before slaughter.

The 'Minister of Agriculture', X.Τσαβούς, reassured the public, stating that the area in Lapathos Famagusta was quarantined and disinfection measures are being taken. He stated that 500,000 vaccinations will be carried out, with the aim of eliminating the disease within three months.

Kıbrıs Postası draws attention to the need for continuous implementation of the vaccination program, citing the example of bluetongue, where the interruption of vaccination led to problems. A technical committee has been established and measures have been taken since December 14.
