Messinia: 45-Year-Old Worker Dies in Landslide Accident

A 45-year-old worker died in a workplace accident in Ari, Messinia, after being buried by soil and debris.

The accident occurred around 15:30, when the worker, a compressor operator, was working on a stormwater drainage network. According to reports, the ground collapsed, causing him to be buried by soil and debris.

His colleagues rushed to help him, and an ambulance transported him to Kalamata Hospital. Despite the doctors' efforts, the 45-year-old died. He reportedly sustained injuries to his chest and ribs.

The Kalamata Police Department is conducting a preliminary investigation into the causes and circumstances of the accident.
