Nicosia: Investigation into Involvement of Underage Burglars in Other Criminal Acts

The Nicosia TAE (Criminal Investigation Department) is investigating the possible involvement of two underage individuals from Syria in more criminal acts, beyond the four cases of burglaries and thefts for which they have already been arrested.
The two minors, a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old, have been detained and allegedly admitted to some of the charges against them. The charges include conspiracy to commit a felony, burglary, theft and malicious damage, offenses allegedly committed between March 29 and 31, 2026, in the Nicosia district.
The four cases concern burglaries at two shops, a restaurant, and an attempted burglary at a supermarket. The thefts from the shops and the restaurant amount to over 1,500 euros, while the damage to the premises exceeds 800 euros.
Authorities are investigating whether the two minors are involved in more serious cases that have been reported recently.
