Limassol: Testimony in Attempted Murder Case of Ukrainian

Significant testimony was presented in court regarding the attempted murder of a 42-year-old Ukrainian man outside a hotel in Limassol. The 39-year-old suspect, who voluntarily surrendered, was brought before the court.
According to the investigator, the victim's partner testified that they had been receiving threatening phone calls from an unknown Russian-speaking man demanding €500,000 for protection. When they refused, the 39-year-old suspect arranged a meeting. The 44-year-old David Gazzaev, threatened to kill the victim's family if he did not attend the meeting.
The victim and the witness went to the meeting with ten other people for safety. The witness testified that Gazzaev continued the threats. The 42-year-old confirmed the threats, but stated that the amount requested was €300,000.
Two pistol magazines, one with 8 bullets, were found in the apartment of the wanted Russian man in Germasogeia. The 39-year-old suspect was placed under 8-day detention.
