Limassol: 58-Year-Old Sentenced for Sexually Abusing 6-Year-Old Daughter

A shocking case of sexual abuse of a minor daughter led to the sentencing of a 58-year-old man by the Criminal Court of Limassol. The man was sentenced to five years in prison.

The case came to light when the 6-year-old girl told her mother about the incidents. According to the evidence, the abuse took place on two separate occasions, in August 2024 and March 2025, at the family's home.

The Permanent Criminal Court of Limassol imposed a five-year prison sentence on the 58-year-old father, acknowledging the seriousness of his actions. The court emphasized the need to protect children from all forms of sexual violence.

The case reached the authorities through the helpline «1440» of the Association for the Prevention and Handling of Violence in the Family (ΣΠΑΒΟ), following a complaint.

During the sentencing, the court rejected the claim of lack of planning, emphasizing that the defendant had taken steps to conceal his actions. In favor of the defendant, his clean criminal record and cooperation with the authorities were taken into account.

In addition to the prison sentence, a supervision order was issued for the defendant for a period of 6 years after his release.
