Limassol: 56-year-old victim of traffic fine scam

A 56-year-old resident of Limassol reported being the victim of a scam, losing €2,000. The 56-year-old received an SMS message informing him of an outstanding traffic fine payment.

After following the link and entering personal and banking details, the amount was found to have been withdrawn from his account.

The Cyprus Police urges the public to be careful of such scams, urging them not to open suspicious links and not to enter personal information on unsecured websites.
