Limassol: 48-year-old loses over €65,000 in online scam

Police are investigating a new case of online fraud following a complaint by a 48-year-old resident of Limassol who lost over €65,000.

According to the complaint, between June 7 and 27, 2025, the 48-year-old invested money through a website she found online. The total amount of investments exceeded €65,200.

When the woman tried to cash out her profits, she realized she had been scammed, as she was asked to pay additional money to make a withdrawal.

The Financial Crime Investigation Office of the Limassol CID is investigating the case. Police urge the public to be especially careful with online investment proposals and to verify the credibility of platforms before any transaction.
