Larnaca: Katina Baird Arrested for Illegal Residence

In Larnaca, police arrested Katina Baird for illegal residence in Cyprus.

Ms. Baird, originally from Guyana, ran a restaurant in the city. She was married to a British citizen (pre-Brexit) but divorced two months before completing three years of marriage, following a report of domestic violence.

According to the law, for a third-country national to reside in Cyprus as a family member of an EU citizen, they must have completed three years of marriage.

The arrest was made for deportation purposes.
