Larnaca: Arrest After 2 Years for Robbery at Businessman's Home

Police announced the arrest of a 31-year-old man wanted in connection with a robbery committed two years ago at a businessman's home in Larnaca. He is the sixth person arrested in the case.
The suspect is expected to appear tomorrow before the Larnaca District Court for a detention order. The other five detainees (43, 42, 41, 29 and 27 years old) were referred to a direct trial before the Permanent Criminal Court of Larnaca, which will be held on April 2. The last four were sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Dimitris Andronikou.
The robbery was reported on February 19, 2024, by the businessman's 58-year-old wife. Four hooded men entered the house in the Faneromeni area, threatened the 58-year-old and two domestic helpers, and stole mobile phones, jewelry, and €188,000 from a safe.
One of the stolen watches was found on a social media platform and had been sold to a jewelry store in Lebanon. On March 14, 2024, a 41-year-old from Syria was arrested as a suspect for the telephone communication with Lebanon. A 30-year-old was also arrested for selling stolen rings to a jewelry store in Nicosia.
The five defendants face charges of conspiracy, robbery, burglary, and theft.
