Larnaca: Suspects in Bloody Incident Appear in Court

The five remaining suspects arrested in connection with the bloody incident in Larnaca are expected to appear in a separate court procedure from the two businessmen. Their arrest was part of an operation following a shooting that occurred on Saturday, January 17, near the Larnaca Police Department (ADE).

Larnaca CID (TAE) is investigating offenses including participation in a criminal organization, conspiracy, extortion, and money laundering from illegal activities, allegedly committed between 2023 and 2025.

On January 22, 2026, arrest and search warrants were issued for the five suspects, aged 42, 22, 31, 29, and 29. During searches of their homes, €1,050, jewelry, mobile phones, two bulletproof vests, replica pistols, and a retractable baton were seized. Two vehicles were also confiscated.

A firearm was found in one residence, for which the owner did not have a license, leading to his re-arrest. A 22-year-old arrestee was already in Central Prisons as a defendant.

The arrested individuals are expected to appear today before the Larnaca District Court.
