Larnaca: Seizure of Tobacco Products and Pharmaceuticals

A coordinated operation by members of the OPE (Pyla Special Duties) and officers of the Customs Department led to the seizure of a significant quantity of tobacco products and pharmaceuticals at a premises in the Larnaca district.

Specifically, 111 cartons of cigarettes, 55 cartons of heated cigarettes, 8 kilograms and 135 grams of tobacco, as well as 261 grams of prohibited nicotine-containing pharmaceuticals were confiscated.

Two individuals, aged 42 and 55, were arrested, fined, paid the fine, and released. Investigations are continuing by the Xylotymbou Police Station in cooperation with the Customs Department.

The operation was carried out as part of efforts to combat the illegal possession, trafficking and trade of duty-free tobacco products.
