Larnaca: Seizure of Hundreds of Untaxed Tobacco Products

A coordinated operation by members of OPE (Special Duties Pyla) and officials from the Customs Department led to the seizure of hundreds of untaxed tobacco products in the Larnaca province.

Specifically, 111 cartons of cigarettes of various brands, 55 cartons of heated cigarettes, as well as 8 kilograms and 135 grams of tobacco were confiscated. The operation was carried out as part of efforts to combat the illegal possession, trafficking, and trading of duty-free tobacco products.

Two individuals, aged 42 and 55 years old, were arrested, fined, paid the fine, and released. In addition, 261 grams of prohibited pharmaceutical preparations containing nicotine were found and also confiscated.

The Xylotymbou Police Station, in cooperation with the Customs Department, continues the investigations.
