Larnaca: Seizure of Untaxed Tobacco Products, Two Arrests

A coordinated operation in the Larnaca district led to the seizure of untaxed tobacco products and the arrest of two individuals, aged 55 and 42.

The operation, involving members of the OPE (Special Duties Pyla) and officers from the Department of Customs, aimed to combat the illegal possession, trafficking, and trade of untaxed tobacco products.

During the search of a property owned by the two arrested individuals, 111 cartons of cigarettes of various brands, 55 cartons of heated cigarettes, and 8 kilograms and 135 grams of tobacco were seized. Additionally, 261 grams of prohibited pharmaceutical preparations containing nicotine were found.

The arrested individuals were released after paying a fine. Investigations are continuing by the Xylotymbou Police Station in cooperation with the Department of Customs.
