Larnaca: Seizure of Untaxed Tobacco and Arrests

A coordinated operation in the Larnaca district led to the seizure of untaxed tobacco products and the arrest of two individuals, aged 42 and 55.

The operation, carried out by members of OPE (Pyla Special Duties) in collaboration with the Customs Department, aimed to combat the illegal possession and trafficking of untaxed tobacco.

During the search of a property owned by the two arrested individuals, 111 cartons of cigarettes of various brands, 55 cartons of heated cigarettes, and 8 kilograms and 135 grams of tobacco were found and confiscated.

The arrested individuals were released after paying a fine. In addition, 261 grams of prohibited pharmaceutical preparations containing nicotine were seized.

The Xylotymbou Police Station and the Customs Department are continuing the investigations.
